A Splash Screen inspired by the trueNature Splash Screen which is popular.

I have no idea who took the picture. I've had it on my harddrive for a while and like it very much. I found it with google quite a while ago. I've only added the black fading bar in the center.

This is my first contribution, I've only been using Linux for a few weeks.

The wallpaper can be found here...

edit: March 13 2007
I've created a KDM theme to match the wallpaper and Splash Screen. It can be found here -> http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=54522
Or download from this page.

UPDATE: The person who took the picture of the harddrive has contacted me. So I can now direct the credits for this beautiful picture in the right person.
Copyrights for this picture are in hands of the photographer who I must thank for letting me use the picture.
The original source of the picture is http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33474707/
Take a look at the gallery to http://fanatic-alien.deviantart.com/gallery/

- Added KDM theme for download

- Added wallpaper for download

- The splash screen is using the Amarath icons now, instead of the icons used by the system.

i'm not really sure how im supposed to get the login screen to work. i loaded the image in the control center but when i reboot it only flashes and the the suse's default blue screen pops back up. i'm sure it has something to do with the .xml included in the tarball but what do i do with it? love the project by the way.

I'm not sure what the problem is. I'm running Kubuntu Feisty here. Sorry I can;t help you I'm afraid.
You're free to edit the files yourself of course!

Thank you for the compliment!

Run from console...

$ sudo apt-get install kdmtheme
$ sudo kcontrol

...and type "kdm" in the searchbox within kcontrol. You'll find the "KDM Theme Manager" and be able to install the theme.

There is a problem with the theme manager that makes it impossible to install themes if you don't run kcontrol directly as root. The problem exists for a long time and no one seems to find it important enough to fix :)

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
