   0.3.2 - final(?)

Plasma Theme

Score 80%
Tilain Plasma

Downloads:  893
Submitted:  Jan 5 2014
Updated:  Jul 10 2014

Description:

Tilain is a simple theme for the KDE Plasma
Maybe you need to restart plasma after activation of the theme, because of a strange behavior of plasma :(

============update============
because the Team is busy right now (that wont change much for this summer) we freeze the development for tilain right now (i'm open for patches/new files)

however.. I will start to work on a port to plasma 5 (the framework5/Qt5 one) after the first release in july(?). We always need help, so if you want - just ask :)

Changelog:

initial release here
(i hope that ghns will work now)

0.3 *
rework for all tray icons :)
elements added for the timer widget
color corrections for some elements

0.3.1 *
a little fallback for the networkmanager widget, to get all icons on wireless.
lets hope everything is ok now (:

0.3.2 *
remove the old networkmanager icon and give them a new one.
this will not work with older plasma-nm versions. please upgrade to plasma-nm 0.9.3

Hi.

Every time i connect to wireless networks it's icon disapears and become an empty white space. what should i do?
i am using kubuntu 14.04 and wicd as network manager.

Right now there is no support for the "wicd" networkmanager. i dont know what elements it needs (i didnt even knew that it can use plasma-themed icons)
So far it seems that the wicd project is unmaintained https://launchpad.net/wicd <- so even with the new port of tilain (for plasma 5), there will be no support for it.

what you should do is to switch back to the plasma networkmanager or try to find a wicd developer and ask him to support the new naming system of the networkmanagement. because if wicd uses the old plasma-cons for network. with plasma5 (and breeze) you will not even have an icon anymore. :(

That would be sad because no other icon theme match my desktop as yours and i can't switch back to network manager, it has the annoying habit of asking my wireless network password every 30 seconds if the signal get weak.
But how come other icon themes can show wicd in the tray? sorry but i don't know anything about naming conventions, may be there is an other way. would you please search more?
Thank you again.

Ha! That's weird. I did nothing but the wireless tray icon came back this morning. No white space anymore! That's so odd!

Yeah. i tried it today morning and there is nothing i could do. wicd dont uses any plasma related icon. maybe your gnome icon theme was broken in some way. ^-^
however i'm happy that it works again~

I had been trying out Plasma 5 and found its default theme beautiful, but it is still in beta, and then I found this theme. Absolutely gorgeous! This should be the default in Plasma 4. Keep up the great work!

thank you :)
we will port the theme to plasma 5 in the next month (not a port, we re-do everything).

https://plus.google.com/101211744280964358210/posts/SAhL6ZSaFBs

its a bigger change this time but i hope the result will be the same. Lets hope the first release of plasma5 is stable in a direction, that we can play with it :D

 NetworkManager disabled icons

by sauravsengupta on: Jul 14 2014

Currently icons in NetworkManager for items that are switched off appear disabled, though they can be clicked to switch them on, e.g., the airplane mode icon appears greyed out if aeroplane mode is off, though clicking it works. Can you fix this so that icons for items that can be switched on by clicking appear in the standard dark colour and greyed out icons are used only for items that cannot be switched on by clicking? (I read in your G+ post that you are not actively working on the current version, but this icon issue causes confusion and it works correctly in other themes.)

This was a design decision that 'off'- icons are greyed out and 'on'-icons are 100visible. so not a bug, sorry.

for the plasma5 port it will change. we will use the standard breeze icon set (maybe will small changes).

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
