 How Do I Install

by wahoospa on: Jul 27 2008

I like it. I am using openSuSE 11.0 and KDE 3.5 and would like to know how to install. I downloaded it and clicked on it and it now shows up in theme manager with ""no preview available". I click on Install but I get nothing.

I'm using Xubuntu 8.04 with KDE 3.2 and it installs from the theme manager. Did you try uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the theme manager? I'll check it out some more.

Okay, Sorry about that. I tried installing on a different system and I was having the same problem. I uploaded the .tar.gz for Dekorator.

Uncompress the package, and if you haven't already, install kwin-style-dekorator. Open the Control Center, got to > Appearance & Themes > Window Decorations. Choose dekorator from the drop-down list. Go to the "paths" tab. Under "Frames Tiles Paths" select the deco folder from the location where you unpacked the file. Same for "Buttons" and "Masks", choose the folders entitled "buttons" and "masks" from the uncompressed directory.

Hope that makes sense.

Nice port of the only good Microsoft window decoration to come out for XP/Vista/7. The widgets would be nice too

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
