Description:

hi =)

i couldn't find a forum or anything and i hope i didn't like break a rule posting here - please don't be upset if i did. i promise i won't do it again. =)

i just wanted to know if anyone could port "Flurry" screensaver from mac os x to kde? it is *beautiful*. i looked for it on windows and nobody has it but i would love to see it most on my linux machines first.

if you know it, you'll probably agree that it is a super beautiful screensaver. it looks like a plasma ball effect on your screen, with multiple colors.

is that hard to do? i'm not a coder at all and i have *no* idea what that would mean in terms of a project.

thanks! =)

savanna.

Is the slideshow that pans and zooms the images. That should be simple to do for KDE... I think.

I could ty to do it mysef, but I code like a monkey and have 0 knowlege about programming in KDE. :-/

 There's one problem

The downloaded file is in mac's disk image format which from what I can find, can only be opened by mac's with their disk mounting program. So if someone has a mac that can open the file and get the source then maybe someone could do something.

Flurry has been ported to X as an XScreenSaver (http://www.jwz.org/xscreensaver/) module, which can be run from kscreensaver if so desired.

Does anyone know if the 'flurry' screensaver is available for PC's?

Uh... PC mean Personal Computer...

If you mean Windows, on the authors website he has a port to Windows.

Interestingly, after looking through the rather exhausting list of screensaver hacks listed in 3.2, I found Flurry lurking there. Guess which screensaver I'm now using ;)
It's in the Illusions of Depth category.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
