On installation I get "Installing the package /home/xxxxxx/Downloads/153192-redditnotifier.plasmoid failed"

Any ideas?

Kubuntu 12.04 / KDE 4.9

Could you try viewing it with the plasmoidviewer?

Try "plasmapkg -t plasmoid -i xx.plasmoid"
(Did you try to install it from the "install new plasmoid" dialog (or smthg like this, I use other locale), I will check if there is bug report for that)

Btw great plasmoid, thanks sandsmark!

Yes that is how I tried to install it. I'm assuming that is how most users would install as well, through Panel Options > Add Widgets

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
