 Your proposal...

...makes sense. KDE printer configuration is indeed cluttered. There are only 1 thing I don't agree: scanners in the printer dialog. Scanners have very different configuration options (color depth, reolution, gamma etc), which are usually altered using scanning application (XSane, for example). And as sane (UN*X scanning backend) doesn't have a server (like CUPS), those options aren't globally available.

BTW, nice essay and a very nice live demo :)

It is not the size of the hammer that counts. It's how you wield it.

Great work. Excellent opinions, excellent presentation. That's the way to go.

I agree with almost everything there.

Thanks a lot for your "useful" comment.

First of all, the icons in the mockups are the official KDE icons and I'm not trying to improve them in this mockup. This is just a mockup about the printers manager interface, just it.

PD: Please, write your comments in English.

Since this hasn't been implemented in KDE4 yet I'd like to say this idea makes a lot of sense, the old version was too cluttered.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
