Description:

It's just an idea for a plasmoid-menu OSX like.
I use dolphin and many kde4 apps without menu bar and a plasmoid like this would be very useful for me.

Ciao.
In effect, I read of it, but I mean, if it possible, a simple plasmoid, theme/style indipendent, wich I can place on desktop, like any other plasmoid, or drag into a top panel, if I like it.
X-bar, at this time, works only with bespin. :)

Qt4/X11 (nor KDE4) atm does not support to link out or export menubars.

So in order to do this you /need/ something external within your application that provides this - and the only plugin loaded by all apps is the style.

(What i want to say is, that the XBar linkage to the Bespin style is not artificial, like i'm just mean or so ;-)

There're also efforts to get this aligned with the (Gnome)GlobalMenubar and then we'll try to get the feature into Qt (best) KStyle (full featured, but a little hackish) or KMenuBar (what means it wouldn't work with plain Qt apps as arora, psi, smplayer,... you name it)

blucidy. But not everybody likes Bespin. Me for example ... :)

@ Author of this:
hmm, nice idea, but would be enough place on a one-panel-system?

@schollidesign and others

I see in plasma extreme flexibility and I have some ideas on it.
I see, for example, in a plasmoid-menu a way to obtain a function like OSX.
Other user, perhaps, dislike a top-panel-bar, but they appreciate a plasmoid-menu on your desktop for using it.
Others would want a plasmoid-menu only visible (I'm waiting for this feature :-) ) on dashboard for some kind of work or fun.
A plasmoid-menu, like other plasmoids, could be an opportunity, an API, for developing new and more complex plasmoid-apps and for giving a sense to the dashboard, for example. :-)

Ciao

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
