 strange bug

 by steampoweredlawngnome on: Apr 14 2010

Score 50%

There's a problem with this widget that causes corruption on the RSSNow widget when you scroll. If you scroll the page in the Phone widget, it causes a partial image of the RSSNow widget to scroll too, over the top of the actual widget.

FWIW I'm using Kubuntu 10.04 beta 64-bit with KDE 4.4.2

I think it's a plasma bug. Try the official WebBrowser plasmoid or anything else which displays webpage. The problem is the same in all.

No, I don't have that problem with the standard Web browser plasmoid, only this one.

 Does not work for me

I get just a blank page no matter what I do. If I remove the setPage line, then it renders fine, but with the default user agent. I am running Kubuntu 10.04

Turns out to be proxy related. It works on this computer without a proxy and another computer, also Kubuntu 10.04, without a proxy. I will have to investigate why page views change proxy settings.

I got it to work, but it is not a long-term solution. In reading the docs at nokia, the proxy manager cannot guess the system proxy on non-Windows or non-Mac machines. I would guess it would at least use environment variables. Anyway, I fixed it for me by adding my proxy to the __init__ method of the FakeAgent.

self.proxy = QNetworkProxy( QNetworkProxy.HttpProxy, QString("localhost"), 8888, QString(""), QString(""))
self.networkAccessManager().setProxy(self.proxy)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
