Description:

This is the MATRIX widget (Plasmoid). It helps you to rescue the world ... every day!

----

Thanks to Aaron Siego for his daily blog entries - they encouraged me to program this shining piece of software! B-)

----

Please note that it's probably necessary to restart Plasma if you update this plasmoid!

----

The Matrix has you...

Changelog:

V0.6

- new look!

- KDE 4.6 ready!

- improved efficiency!

V0.5

- once again more customizing features

- improved look of the 3D extension

V0.4.1 (Bugfix-Release)

If you got problems with updating/removing earlier versions,
please remove the folder matrixV3 (if exists) .

You can do that using the following command:

rm -rf ~/.kde/share/apps/plasma/plasmoids/matrixV3/

Sorry for that...

V0.4

- enhanced 3D extension

- new configuration dialogue

- smaller bugfixes and more

V0.3

- switching from webkit to javascript script engine (now depending on KDE 4.4.x)

- possibility to full resize the Plasmoid (ignoring aspect ratio)

- a full plate of new customizing features

- plasma (settings) crash fixed

V0.2

- possibility to resize the Plasmoid

- the new matrix engine looks more realistic

Hi bitcrazy,

well, I just tested the link and ... it points to V0.4!

Did you restart Plasma?

Greetings, Gerardo

Nice widget. Kudos.

It takes less time to take the time to do it right the first time, than it does to fix it the second time.

 horrible slow

I just downloaded the plasmoid and tried it. But it runs horrible slow and causes 100% cpuload.

I guess it is because I run kde without desktop effects/composite, but really 100% cpuload is too mutch

is there no other way to speed it up?

Hi ibuscher,

give the new version a try! I improved the performance regarding "custom color settings" and "transparency" a lot...

...I hope you are lucky :-)

On my laptop I set the Matrix speed to "very slow" (using the configuration menu).

As result I get a perceived cpu load of pretty much 0% ;-)

Hi HERGUZAV,

sorry for the late answer...

...it's very simpe -- just follow these 2 steps:

1. INSTALL

Panel -> Cashew Nut -> Add Widgets -> Get New Widgets... -> Download new Plasma Widgets -> Search: Matrix -> Install

2. ACTIVATE

Panel -> Cashew Nut -> Add Widgets -> Choose...

Thanks for trying, have fun & regards,

Gerardo

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
