This is a Mock-up that just went threw my mind and I just wanted to share it...

I think this would be really cool!
Just imagine you left-click on the kmix-symbol in the taskbar and a plasmoid-like-window would pop up and give you all the necessary settings for your sound-card in just a click..

In a way like the mockup I made?!..

I am not a C++/KDE/Qt developer :-(, so I can't make this, sorry ..

Looking for a dev that likes this idea..

I already submitted a bug report about this.
But the kmix dev is not interested in making a plasmoid out of kmix. So this is going to have to be a third party project. Unfortunately, I can only code in perl, so this will have to be someone else's project.

I'm 99% sure (1% unsure) that you can make plasmoids using perl.

I started a widget with python called Mixeroid. It's still very basic but maybe could be enhanced to resamble your idea.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
 Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
 I do not like some of the changes.
 KDE is taking the wrong way.
 I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
 I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
