Description:

Ever wanted a quick access to informations/meanings of words or phrases??

The KlipOQuery-Panelapplet for KDE is meant to be a bridge between Klipper and the Web. KlipOQuery will pass your active (text) selection or copied item to a selected service.
So, you 're able to access informations from any application simply by this triple:
Select Text -> Press Button -> Gain Informations

Features:

* Get informations of selected text from any application with only one click
* Define your own services
* Group this services in categories
* Often used services will be shown in a ranking
* Change selected services with the scrollwheel or right mouse button

The sourcepackage provides a bunch of "ready to use" english services.
(e.g. Wikipedia, Vivisimo, Babel ...)
An additional configuration file for german services is available, too. (see below)

For more details, follow the link in the header

Nice and useful app!
Is there any way I can change the default browser used by WebKlip? I prefer Firefox...

If you dont be afraid in changing the source code, yes you can! You only need to change "konqueror" to "firefox" or whatever browser you like in the file src/webklipaction.cpp line 84. In the next release there will be a choice for a default browser.

BUT note, if you use a different browser than konq. you won't have all the web-icons in the menu and on the button. (they come from konq chache)

And what about kapp->invoqueBrowser(theURL); (I don't remember well : I think it is in KApplication class) ?
It would automatically adopt default/preferred browser for everyone and don't need an option...

I have been after gurunet.com, answers.com to support Linux. They, of course, use the easy to use Microsoft browser COM object. Their patent is that you need not select the text, just do an alt-click on it. The idea of using this technique, originally part of the Wordpoint language translator, to a search engine, was actually mine, a good while back.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
