Description:

This idea comes from a video I saw on youtube. Imagine that the \"pass\" of different users can shoot with the mouse wheel, and you should just write the password. If your computer there are many users you can search for your \"pass\" through the login bar below.

yes, coverflow. i think the static things belong to the past. And i think that kde4 belongs to the future. The login-screen needs a new review..

I love this new login screen! KDE should make this... only maybe with a little blue, since that represents KDE, but still it looks really great :)

 Alternatives

Please, make alternative ways as well without the user browser as it is counted as security risk in corporations because it shows the users login information like username and users name and face many times. So there is a need for as well the way to actually just type the username and password.

And there is a idea to allow the KDM being animated. It was blogged on planetkde but it needs lots of thinking before it can be done. About security etc.

And there is always a few things what should taken care like http://www.icon-king.com/thoughts/few-things-about-kdm-that-do-not-make-much-sense-to-me/

So KDM could have fork, something like "KDM home" ;)

In my home we use KDM only to pick user account, not to protect some precious data (like corporations do). And we would love the eyecandy-kdm :-)
No matter if it's coverflow ore something different. Typing my username isn't exciting AT ALL ;)

There is no need to have a fork at all. KDM supports already the face browser like as well the secure username&password styled.

The question was just to as a mockup for the secure style without the face browser. The Plasma/Animated KDM has few security problems needed to design first until such could be started to be developed.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
