Submitted:  Mar 23 2007
Updated:  Apr 19 2007

Description:

This is a complete system set for KDE. I have assembled this set from icons by Everaldo, Louie Mantia and an unknown artist here on Deviantart who created the Dossier icon that I used for a template to create all of the filesystems icons. I used Louie Mantia\'s mimetype icons as a template. Also included in this set are the most beautiful Open Office icons on the planet created by Mike Moschini aka gryphen who kindly granted permission to include them. This is a great example of a true Linux community. This iconset is by the people for the people :-)

The build script depends on 'convert', which is part of ImageMagick.

I created this set because there are no iconsets for KDE to my liking. I hope everyone enjoys this set and I give all credit to the great artists who made most of these icons.

To install this set:
1. download the zip file
2. extraxt the zip file
3. cd into the Glossy_Crystal folder
4. open a terminal there
5. run ./buildset
6. get a beer
7. Install the icon theme in KDE Control Panel
8. Enjoy

Changelog:

Changed download link to Deviantart page.

Updated:
Added Baghira sidebar icons
Added choice of Trash icons...before building set go to the filesystems folder, rename trashcan_empty to trashcan_empty1, rename trashcan_full to trashcan_full1, pick the Trashcan set you like and remove the number from the name then run ./buildset

Update:03-28-2007
Replaced some ugly icons
Corrected some icon names...Thanks Nick

Updated:03-29-07
Created a "K" themed kmenu icon, an amarok icon, and a konversation icon
Corrected more icon names...thanks again Nick

Final;04-02-2007
Fixed buildset script
Removed duplicates

Update:04-04-2007
Added vlc icon, konveration system tray alert icon and colored folders open icon...Thanks Nick

Updated:04-18-2007
Added new K3B icon, GimpCan icons, Gamepad icon, Word Processor icon, many new Folder icons per request and improved and cleaned up some more... Made Mo Betta :-)

 OSX Clone... HowTo?

by DrCR on: Apr 15 2007

Score 50%

I don't get out much, and my OSX use time is basically nill, but that's the best OSX gui clone I've seen!

To reproduce in full?

+ KDE 3.x (Baghira limitation)
+ KXDocker with Tempered Glass background ported from ObjectDock
+ Beryl Emerald - port of Susumu's Eternal. It's on Beryl's site under themes, called "Eternal Fedora". Works good with Ubuntu Human color scheme.
+ Baghira. Use Gimp to turn the kicker background included in the Baghira source upside down. The sidebar looks better if you google baghira and find the baghira tutorial. The Baghira Starter is my little Fedora mod and the Spotlight icon is Kerry Beagle.

What "little Fedora mod"?

Thanks,
DrCR

convert: missing an image filename `../../64x64/filesystems/folder_sites.png'.
convert: missing an image filename `../../48x48/filesystems/folder_sites.png'.
convert: missing an image filename `../../32x32/filesystems/folder_sites.png'.
convert: missing an image filename `../../22x22/filesystems/folder_sites.png'.
convert: missing an image filename `../../16x16/filesystems/folder_sites.png'.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems.

It's the same buildset script used in several icon themes.

The only thing that I can figure is the download must have got corrupted.

try dowmloading from the mirror instead.

I have now downloaded this again two times, once from mirror and once from primary download and transfer goes always right but i get same errors everytime. Now i checked those files where i get errors and those size is 0 bytes so there is problem on those packages. Like this theme and apps/package_applications.png

Can you check is your upload right?

Just downloaded, built all four sets...no problems.

Wish I could help but nobody else is having this problem.

It has to be on your end...sorry.

I am sorry to hear this...the problem is that I'm no coding guru.

Please check the pngs when you unzip them...if all of the pngs are there maybe I can figure out if it's a buildscript problem.

Also, I was wondering what Linux Distro you are using?

I will upload the files again, but everything works ok when I download them.

I download the files with Firefox...it is possible that the browser you use can corrupt the download. I have seen that happen many times.

Hope we can figure this out...all I can do is try.

Please try and download at least one of the sets with a different browser...thanks.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
