 Error on instalation

 by alvonsius on: Mar 13 2006

I got some error about copying some files to the local folder. It seems you forget to create the directory tabs and title and do this fix in install.sh

added:

data_dir=`kde-config --localprefix`'share/apps/yakuake/baghira-brushed/'
mkdir -p $data_dir
mkdir -p $data_dir/tabs
mkdir -p $data_dir/title

cp -f ./const/tabs/* $data_dir/tabs && cp -f ./const/title/* $data_dir/title
cp -f $source_scheme/tabs/* $data_dir/tabs && cp -f $source_scheme/title/* $data_dir/title
cp -f ./title/left.png $data_dir/title
cp -f *.skin $data_dir

and the problem solved ...

 ok

I downloaded from the download link and it says it's v0.21.tar.gz but it's 0.2 with no bugfix. I don't know what that's about.

Also, this version just appends the 'skin=' entry but I have a 'Shortcuts' group below the 'Options' group, which caused problems. The script needs to make sure it puts it in the 'Options' group.

Also after fixing that, this version just crashes yakuake. Copying the *.skin files to $kdeprefix/../baghira-brushed directory fixed that.

Also, I couldn't find a color scheme that matches the one I have for Baghira widget styles I have installed but I don't remember if I changed the default colors or something. So that was a bummer.

Nice work, though. Looks pretty good. Is it wrong for me to use an Apple skin on a PC? hmmmmmm

1. no bugfix downloaded
now, that's weird! you're absolutely right but i have no idea how it's possible. i've checked a copy of the file i've uploaded and it's ok... looks to me like kde-look's fault...

2. "skin=" appending
right, i'll need to do sth about it.
so far i've come up with an interim solution but i think it should work for you.

3. crashing yakuake
it's cause of the bug fixed by alvonsius. v0.21 up doesn't crash it any longer.

4. baghira colour scheme
baghira generates the buttons; yakuake reads .png files. to cover all the possibilities of baghira, i'd need to do some 16,777,216 versions times the number of files :)

Yakuake uses (fake) transparent feature of Konsole so you can set it using colour scheme. Right click on the Yakuake and choose settings > Schema > your desired schema :)

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
