Description:

+AlkanoColoredbackground is a +Multisized X11 Mouse Theme; +Multisized is my concept for cursor themes with colorful pointers or pointer with colored backgrounds, and is accomplished by defining the colors that we will use in our cursor theme and set the initial size of the cursor, increasing one pixel between each of the colors. This is my original idea.

There are three packs:
  • +AlkanoCb-large, has defined five colors for background, and the initial cursor size is 60 pixels. Therefore we have backgrounds of #0fd000 Green 60, #ff6600 Orange 61, #0066ff Blue 62, #19e7ff Aqua 63 and #ff0088 Pink 64 pixels.

  • +AlkanoCb-medium, has defined five colors for background, and the initial cursor size is 44 pixels. Therefore we have backgrounds of #0fd000 Green 44, #ff6600 Orange 45, #0066ff Blue 46, #19e7ff Aqua 47 and #ff0088 Pink 48 pixels.

  • +AlkanoCb-small, has defined five colors for background, and the initial cursor size is 28 pixels. Therefore we have backgrounds of #0fd000 Green 28, #ff6600 Orange 29, #0066ff Blue 30, #19e7ff Aqua 31 and #ff0088 Pink 32 pixels.

  • I have tested it under Cinnamon with Wuffin, KDE with Kwin, Xfce, and Gnome 2/3.x and it works great. I added it symlinks for some cursors required for Steam, and all required for KDE, Xfce, Gnome and Unity.

I would like change a few things so you can expect updates. If you find any bugs, please let me know in comments section.

If you don't know how to install a mouse theme with multi sized property, like this one, go to http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=164435, there you can see all instruccions for KDE, Cinnamon, and Xfce. You can use the Cinnamon instructions for Pantheon.

    Enjoy it!
    Thanks

    Changelog:

  • 2014 Mar v0.40 New colors, and I am offering three packs: large, medium and small sizes.

  • 2013 Oct v0.31 I fixed left_ptr_watch hotspot.

  • 2013 Aug v0.30 I changed the cursor left_ptr_watch, coloring more pronounced the watch cursor, and just leaving the cursor left_ptr; was very faded, now it looks better. There is a new cursor theme with gray80 color.

  • 2013 Jun v0.20
1- The watch cursor is bigger now.
    2- I changed the cursor design bd_double_arrow, fd_double_arrow, h_double_arrow, v_double_arrow, sb_h_double_arrow and sb_v_double_arrow. Now look better.
3- I increased by 10 pixels the size of the background now is 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57 and 58 pixels. Now it is easier to see.

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
     Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
