Description:

Copy to:

"/usr/share/splash"

And rename the file .jpg to

"bootsplash-1024x768.jpg"

Next open the file

"/usr/share/splash/bootsplash-1024x768.cfg"

And change only these fields:

"tx=91"
"ty=180"
"tw=840"
"th=540" (Note do not use "")

Next, save the file, log in as root and run the following commands:

"mkinitrd"

Then

"lilo"

Reboot, and enjoy!

P.S.
This is my first boot-splash, so the more comments, the better...

Use your Disks to boot the sytem back up. Once you do that make sure that the spelling of the renamed file is correct including the "-". Make sure you log in as root and run "mkinitrd" first. After the script runs, run "lilo" If that fails I don't know what to say because it works just fine for me and every system I've tried...also make sure lilo is not set to boot from 800x600 as it will not work with the instructions I have provided. Hope that helps...

I'm able to rescue without a problem, I just didn't think of the lilo running @ 800x640. Oups!

Thanks for your pointer...

Cheers,
Steven

This one is so bright, it blinds me!... *grabbing sunglasses* Did you ever think of making a slightly darker version in ... maybe dark red or... blue or green or whatdoiknow?

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
 It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
 Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
 Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
 Gnome 3 default shell is much better
 I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
 None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
