This was a requested splash from a Mandrake user. I currently use SuSE 8.0 and have the same splash for SuSE. If you want to look at SuSE installation, it's posted on this site, but unfortunately, configuration in Mandrake is unknown to me. Sorry, but installation wise, you're on your own.

After about an hour of trying to get it to work. I can no longer boot. No matter what I tryed, nothing worked, I guess I stick to the stock one, or none. After all just the clasic text scrolling down the screen is better that the stack boot splash.

The only thing I can think of, is maybe, its not working being that im using KDE 2.2.2. I can't get KDE 3.0.2 to logout, so for now I use the previus version.

 Mandrake 9.0 Inquiry

Hmm ... If I'm not mistaken, I believe you create a new directory in the "/usr/share/bootsplash/themes/" directory. I'd call it "urban_visions". Then add a folder called images. Place the image file into that folder. Then, go back to the /usr/share/bootsplash/themes and go into Mandrake. Copy the lilo folder to the "/usr/share/bootsplash/themes/urban_visions" folder and you should be all set. After that, I believe you type "/usr/share/bootsplash/scripts/switch-themes". Let me know how that goes and if it works, I'll give it a try on mine.

 Mandrake Help

Looking for a Graphic Design Offer...

It's been a while since I've been here, and as I can see, some people are having a hard time with my Mandrake theme. The reason why: I don't use Mandrake. My native linux distro is SuSE. I received an interesting email today from TGCShooter (A Native Mandrake User) who eplained how to set this up in Mandrake. Here it is:
First, you must create your own theme this takes a little work from Gimp.

Make your Theme (root):
mkdir /usr/share/bootsplash/themes/UrbanVisions
mkdir /usr/share/bootsplash/themes/UrbanVisions/images
cp -R /usr/share/bootsplash/themes/Mandrake/lilo

Now you will have to edit the downloaded bootsplash image (2336-1.jpg) that you
got from kde-look.org. Rename the image to bootsplash-1024x768.jpg. Now open
the image in Gimp. Create two new images with the scale and crop tools that are
1280x1024 and 800x600. Save these files as bootsplash-1280x1024.jpg and
bootsplash-800x600.jpg. Move these files into the file

run these scripts:

cd /etc/bootsplash/themes
mkdir ./UrbanVisions

copy all of the files from the Mandrake folder in
/etc/bootsplash/themes/Mandrake to /etc/bootsplash/themes/UrbanVisions

/usr/share/bootsplash/scripts/switch-themes UrbanVisions
/usr/share/bootsplash/scripts/make-boot-splash UrbanVisions

cd /boot
rm initrd-2.4.XX-XXmdk.img
mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.4.XX-XXmdk.img 2.4.XX-XXmdk (where X is your kernel

re-run lilo and reboot

 mdk9 install

This is for a different theme, but I am having trouble installing it on mdk9. I followed your instructions exactly. Here is my output:

[root@localhost scripts]# ./switch-themes Matrix
[root@localhost scripts]# ./make-boot-splash Matrix
Can't find images for resolution
[root@localhost scripts]# cd ../themes/Matrix/images
[root@localhost images]# ls
bootsplash-1024x768.jpg bootsplash-1600x1200.jpg
bootsplash-1280x1024.jpg bootsplash-800x600.jpg

As you can see, it says it cannot find the images for my resolution, but all the necessary images are where they are supposed to be. My desktop resolution is 1600x1200 but my bootsplash has been running at 800x600. Any ideas?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
