 Issue With KDE

 by username132 on: May 16 2007

There is an issue with using KDE 'Configure Desktop' to fetch new wallpapers from this website, arising from the fact that some (not many) people link to their webpage instead of directly to an image. This causes KDE to download an HTML file instead of the wallpaper. It took me a while to figure out what was happening and don't know whether this "bug" should be reported to KDE-look.org or to the KDE developers. My thread (started when I still didn't know what was going on) is available here: http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=35064
My suggestion is that either this website or the KDE developers screen the download/payload links and only allow direct links to image files. Can you dig it?

This double post was caused by me refreshing the page, several hours after my original post. This isn't usual forum-like behaviour and should probably also be corrected.

 QRegExp problem

by geflei on: Jun 17 2007

Score 50%

Hi,
I have these two
QRegExp group("Workgroup\\|(.*)\\|(.*)\\n"), host("Server\\|(.*)\\|(.*)\\n")

they should match to

Server|LINUX-8OFG|Samba 3.0.24-31-1285-SUSE-SL10.3
Workgroup|HOME|LINUX-8OFG

My problem is that using group.cap(1) and group.cap(2) gives me HOME and LINUX-8OFG seperately, what is intended. But host.cap(1) the whole line starting at LINUX...??
IMHO both reg.epr. are quite equal?
I just want the words between the || seperately.

Any suggestions? Thanks, Gerd

Have you ever tried the KRegExpEditor (http://www.blackie.dk/KDE/KRegExpEditor/)? It's really useful for debugging regular expressions and should be found in the KDEUtils package or as a separate package depending on the distribution.

Check out http://ShareSource.org, a new site for developing software with a group, or just one person! I wonder if KDE-Look would like a themed version ....

 Video contact sheet

Hi,

I needed a program that allows to extract stills from a video to make a contact sheet. For Windows there is imagegrabberII but I couldn't find one for Linux so I made one myself. Unfortunately it is just a bash script and I don't know how to make graphical interface.

So, I am giving the url of my script and if someone wants to pick it up to do a graphical interface, feel free to do so.

I called the script framegrabber

here it is the link : http://tristan.ferroir.free.fr/Linux.php

Best regards

This site creates a free complementary color palette from any photo you upload. it includes hexidecimal color values, making creation of a theme based upon a background image much simpler.

See http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/colors.php

Enjoy!

Do you like or dislike Ubuntu Unity?
 Yes, unity is alien technology!
It is less confusing than Gnome 3 default, shell.
Granny thinks it is much more usable than Gnome 2
Canonical is embarrasing itself with this split project
Gnome 3 default shell is much better
I dislike Unity, Gnome 3 default shell is alien technology!
None of the above, I like the 2Gb for free and Apple alike behavior. Will post a comment instead
