 Nude icons for KDE?

by chandraiitk on: Nov 4 2006

well, is there any work going on what can provide us an icon-theme for KDE based on nude stuffs!! If not, I wonder howcome no one has taken any initiative yet because, if my imagination is correct, nudity is the thing searched most on the internet!!?

Owning computers nowadays is a bit like having a pet rabbit,
It needs to be fed with right stuff or it gets sick.

Try Firefox [http://www.mozilla.com/firefox] --- the right stuff!

I imagine they'd have to create an adult-only section for content such as this. Along with an adult-only section comes the hassle of age verification systems, potential lawsuits, etc...

 Murrina like for KDE

hi guys,
i don't know if it was yet asked, but I'm searching a Murrina "clone" for KDE.
Now i'm using QtCurve: it's beautiful and very customizable, but it's very different from the Murrina GTK style.

There are some project to port the Murrina style to QT, maybe for QT4 and for the future KDE4?

really thanks :D

Ditto on Inkscape, it's an awesome SVG editor. But while you're working on SVGs it's worth remembering that the format is just a breed of XML. So you can open it up in a text editor and hard code it, of course with a really really complicated image this is only advisable if you are actually insane.

does anyone know how to report a company for copyright infringment. I own a computer repair store and I came accross a customers computer that had a utlity software program call winxp manager by yamicsoft www.yamicsoft.com I took a look at the software to see what it does. It was just a standard utility junk program but I noticed the icons that it was using were from kde. one of the tools was even using a kde logo icon. It made me mad that this company would steal artwork from the open source community and resell a product with stolen artwork. SO if anyone knows a good way to report these guys I would love to see something happen to them.

I would guess that the best thing you could do is report that to the KDE, so they can take care of it for themselves.

But AFAIK the official KDE icons are under GPL, and the Free Software Foundation just started a project called "Freedom Task Force", wich is ment to adress GPL copyright viloations. Read here: http://mail.fsfeurope.org/pipermail/press-release/2006q4/000159.html and here: http://gpl-violations.org/ . I think they will primary take care about "large vendors", but might be helpful regarding all the legal issues and procedures.

The icons you can't do particularly much about (they're licensed under the LGPL), however the logo is an entirely different matter. That is actually a trademark, and that's even illegal in countries that don't care about copyright laws... So... :)

Hi,

We're a company looking for someone to design icons and a splash screen for a new application we are building.

We would like to invite designers from KDE with scores over 70% for their icon or splash screen designs (please provide link to work as proof) to email us at Icons [at] Praxino dot com

You would need to sign our Non-Disclosure Agreement before we could tell you more. We will send it to you after you contact us.

With thanks,

The Praxino Team

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
