How to search comments ??

by okichatan on: Feb 23 2010

Dumb question maybe but it is driving me nuts.

How do I search within comments on KDE-Look site?

A project page has 100+ pages and need to find something within those pages.

The search bar on left pane only finds project names.
Thanks

 Karamba widget development

I am working on a karamba status widget.

I want to be able to update the WAN IP "onlclick". I have the following right now:
clickarea x=6 y=205 w=25 h=20 onclick="kdialog --msgbox '%v' sensor=program program="curl -s http://whatismyip.org"
When clicked, a small window pops up with the user's IP.

The problem is, it seems to pull the IP when the widget is loaded/started. I want it to check the IP when clicked -in case the IP changes-.

I would also prefer to have the output (IP) displayed in the widget window, rather than a 'popup'. Is that possible?

**Is there another forum I should be asking this on?**

Thanks for your help.

  boots to 4th virtual desktop?

by arjay on: Mar 18 2010

I am using KDE 4.4. I have set up 4 virtual desktops each with separate activities. These, and the pager work fine.

However, when the PC boots, it boots to the fourth desktop (which I reserve just for system maintenance), not to the first desktop which is the one I mainly use.

How can i get the PC to boot to the first desktop?

TIA

RJ

Can't work MXF files from Avid in Final Cut Pro perfectly? A easy way to transcode Avid MXF files to Apple ProRes 422 for using in FCP without rendering and waiting. Pavtube MXF Converter for Mac support transcode all MXF files to ProRes on Mac (10.10 Yosemite and Mavericks 10.9 included). Below is how.

"Question 1: I have AVID MXF files that I would like to import into FCP. Any ideas other than spending $400. for the MXF Import program. I tried the Sony EX Transfer software but that wouldn't do it. I don't have access to an AVID to export quicktimes." - From Avid forum

"Question 2: The mxf files generated by Avid were not able to be read by Final Cut Pro. I just spend an hour or so trying to import some Avid MXF files after installing the new Calibrated MXF demo, but I couldn't get anywhere. I notice that they say they can only open Avid v3.1 mxf files. I guess that's my problem, some of my mxf files are older. Any plans to add broader Avid support?" - From Avid forum

***********************************************************************

As you see, many folks are talking about how to import Avid MXF files into Final Cut Pro for editing natively. The thing is, even the lastest FCP X does not work with the Avid MXF codec. MXF is used natively by Avid applications to store video and audio "essence" with associated metadata. It has also become the preferred file format for interchange of media files between Avid solutions and products developed by other vendors. Hi all,

The KDE community needs a bit of help:
http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=86887

And something else, it's still kind-of secret, but we want to set up a t-shirt shop. If you think you can create a nice KDE tshirt, send your design to kde-promo@kde.org or to me personally!

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
