Hey all,

I've got an old "windows" style Mouse theme I created years ago and want to know if / how I can turn it into a mouse theme? A starting point would be enough!

They're bitmap and all the themes I've seen so far look like vector based...

Cheers guys!

 Gant for KDE4

I used the gant for kde icon set for kde3 and loved it. For KDE4 though it only works partially.

Is there a gant set for kde4 anywhere? I can't find one.

If not, can someone point me to a kde4 icon theme creation guide (or maybe someone else can do it for me if they're feeling generous ;) ?

Ah, I found the script that someone's already made that converts kde3 icon themes to kde4.

It's not perfect but it's close enough that I can fix the rest.

Thanks.

Download any Plasma Theme, especially those in KDE-Look.org then extract the archive by right click and Extract to: The file you want to put it in is found in Home/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme Please note that you need to have "Show Hidden Files" checked in your View menu to find the .kde file. Next, right click your desktop and open "Desktop Settings" click on "Theme" and choose your new theme, don't forget to click on "Apply" at the bottom then "OK", you're done. There are probably shortcuts for this, but, I had trouble installing an older theme and found this method is best for me.

konsole from kde3 had support for "fake" translucency - to be found somewhere in the settings.

if you run some composite manager (kcompmgr, compiz) you should be able to set the opacity for /the whole window/ via the WM setup (KWin, compiz. both have support for "window rules", i.e. you can apply individual settings to specific windows) - this however includes the font and should be rather subtile

konsole from KDE4 has ARGB support (i.e. translucent bg, opaque text - iff you run a composite manager)

 Suggestions for fan feature

by Emdek on: Mar 31 2009

At beginning thanks for developers for this feature. :-)

My suggestions:
1. Content owner should not have possibility to be a fan of own upload.
2. There could be new sorting option by fans count.
3. When I've accidentally clicked on link for own content and when realized that I've clicked link "Stop being a fan" then fan counter started showing wrong value, but only on content lists (this is true also for other contents on KLO). This is bug or kind of anti cheat that should be solved by 1.?

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
