 .hidden & konqueror

by DanNetwalker on: Nov 4 2007

Ok, maybe this has been asked a million times and I don't find it, or maybe this is the strangest thing you are asked...

In Kubuntu 7.04, konqueror got support for a system to hide files or directories: you created a .hidden file and write in there the name of the file/folder you wanted to hide.

Marvelous, great for tyding up your home folder and very easy. But they mad a mistake (according to some users): they let it configured by default so that several system directories (/etc, /bin, etc) where hidden by default. Some people said that was a bug, and suddenly kubuntu 7.10 doesn't use .hidden files.

Lots of people in the past asked "how do I disable this .hidden file thingy?". I'm asking for exactly the oposite: does anybody can tell me how do I ENABLE .hidden files support on konqueror?

(My /home directory is a mess, someone help! please )

I would like to know that too, how to ENABLE it. I dont need it, but i need it for my customers who dont need to know anything else than /media and /home directories, most are over 50 years and they just like to use computer.

I like Mandriva's La Ora theme, but i use Kubuntu. Can anyone post a link to where I can download it, or even the style itself? Thanks.

 Content disappeared

Does anyone know how can this be possible?

I haven't checked my profile in a while but I do remember having one Karamba content, namely "Borealis" superkaramba theme. It used to be moderately successful and had at least 70K downloads. The original kde-look.org URL was:

http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=13876

Now, this one is empty even though I never explicitly deleted it. My other content appears to be intact (thank goodness!).

For more info on the theme please visit:

http://ico.bukvic.net/Linux/Borealis_superkaramba/Borealis_manual/

At any rate, I would appreciate it if someone would please help solve this mystery.

Many thanks!

Sincerely,

Ico

I've just noticed that KDE-apps.org has enabled "intellitxt" ads. These are the most annoying and sleazy things on earth. Please, please, please, turn them off!
There must be a better way to monetize this site.

How do you like Plasma 5?
 The best KDE Desktop ever.
 Definitely a nice improvement.
Not decided yet. Haven't tried it yet.
I do not like some of the changes.
KDE is taking the wrong way.
I am still sticking with KDE 3.5.
I have no opinion, but wanted to vote anyway.
